Polarization Dependence of Raman Gain in Optical Fibers

Abstract

A method to measure the polarization dependence of the Raman gain in optical fibers, which utilizes sum-frequency lock-in technique, is introduced. The result of measurement made with this technique is compared to bulk glass and previous polarized fiber measurements made on optical fibers.
