Abstract

A non-iterative procedure based on the sampling theorem is presented for calculation of eigenfunctions of imaging systems with arbitrary bandlimited impulse responses. The connection between the number of significant eigenvalues and the space-bandwidth product of the system is explained. The eigenfunction method is illustrated with numerical simulations.
