Abstract

We have synthesized in high yields by Heck coupling new organic “donor-donor” conjugated chromophores arranged in increasing dimensionality (1D to 3D). The donor part is based on a 3,4,5-tridodecyloxyphenyl group. Femtosecond two-photon absorption measurements evidenced an improved cross section (≅ 10−19 cm4/GW) that depends on the arrangement of the chromophores.
