Abstract

MTG-IRS will be Europe's first hyperspectral sounder in a geo-stationary orbit. It covers two bands (700-1210 and 1600-2175 cm<sup>-1</sup>) and measures with a spatial sampling of 4 km the full Earth disc in 60 minutes.
