Incoherent Supercontinuum Light Source via an Active Highly-Nonlinear Photonic Crystal Fiber with All-Normal Dispersion for Laser-Based Sensing Applications

Abstract

We numerically study incoherent supercontinuum generation in ytterbium-doped all-normal dispersion fibers and report that eruptive dark solitons generated by optical gain cause incoherence and further spectral broadening, which can be utilized for incoherent optical sensing.
