Abstract
Despite the numerous studied devoted to the so-called Modulational Instability (MI) in optical fibers, it is only recently that the single-shot observation of MI spontaneously emerging from noise has been reported. In particular, in [1], MI arising from the propagation of a continuous wave (CW) field in optical fibers is investigated by using time-lens technique. However, in these pioneering studies, the detection performed at the output of the fiber does not allow the observation of the dynamics along the propagation inside the fiber.
