Neuromimetic Dynamics in a Micropillar Laser with Saturable Absorber

Abstract

We study neuromimetic dynamical behaviours in a semiconductor micropillar laser with intracavity saturable absorber (SA) in the excitable regime [1]. Neuromimetic systems can behave analogously to neurons making them interesting for neuron-like all-optical signal processing and for fabricating neural networks.
