Abstract
The ability of metallic nanostructures to enhance and localize strong optical fields has made them attractive for investigations of strong-field physics in solid-state systems. Recent work along these lines has shown signatures of strong-field photoemission and electron re-scattering from metallic nano-tips [1-4] and plasmonic nanoparticles [5]. Additionally, carrier-envelope phase (CEP) effects, have been observed in the photoelectron energy spectra [2] and the total photoemission current from metallic nano-tips [4].
