Abstract

Deterministic preparation of single neutral atoms has been a long standing challenge for physicists as this technology will further advance the fundamental studies of quantum processes at the microscopic level and may pave way for the realization of a scalable quantum logic device. A versatile yet robust platform for this is the microscopic optical dipole trap.
