Abstract

Quantum networks is an outstanding goal for the quantum optics community, which would allow long-distance communication (quantum repeaters [1]) and distributed quantum simulations/computation. A major hurdle towards this goal is to develop efficient and long-lived (up to seconds) quantum memories [2], which are devices that allow synchronization of independent and probabilistic quantum processes.
