Abstract
Entanglement between distant atomic quantum memories is a key resource for future applications in quantum communication, as it represents an essential step towards the installation of a quantum repeater link. Such scalable entanglement distribution will enable applications like quantum teleportation, quantum cryptography and links between quantum computers over large distances.
