Contention simulation within dynamic, colorless and unidirectional/multidirectional optical cross-connects

Abstract

By simulating dynamic channel adding/dropping operations of an optical node within WDM transparent networks, we compare different colorless unidirectional/multidirectional layouts in terms of internal blocking rate as function of the traffic load.
