Optical Layer Traffic Grooming in Flexible Optical WDM (FWDM) Networks

Abstract

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel optical layer grooming technique for OFDM-based flexible grid WDM networks, and we propose an effective algorithm to optimize the spectrum utilization through such a grooming technique.
