Measured Phase and Group Birefringence in Elliptical Core Fibers with Unparalleled Systematically Varied Ellipticities

Abstract

This paper presents the first systematic phase and group birefringence measurement of elliptical core fibers covering an unprecedented ellipticity range from 0–0.9. Results are compared with simulations and the impact of core area is discussed.
