Power Consumption Analysis of Architecture on Demand

Abstract

Recently proposed Architecture on Demand (AoD) node shows considerable flexibility benefits against traditional ROADMs. We study the power consumption of AoD including sub-wavelength time switching functionality. Results show that AoD can bring energy savings at node level.
