Background-free 3D four-wave mixing microscopy of single gold nanoparticles inside biological systems

Abstract

Individual small gold nanoparticles are imaged in 3D background-free with high contrast by four-wave-mixing interferometry inside living mouse oocytes and multi-cellular organs, despite the strong linear scattering background in these large samples.
