Antimicrobial photodynamic treatment of gram-negative bacteria with a cationic phenothiazine dye under pulse light irradiation

Abstract

We investigated methylene blue-mediated photodynamic effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa using 665-nm nanosecond pulsed light i^n vitro. The optimum excitation conditions were examined; a reduction of survival fraction up to 10-4 was obtained.
