Rod and spherical fused silica micro-lenses fabricated by the melting method

Abstract

It is shown that micro lenses with rod and spherical shape can be fabricated with the melting method. Size of the lenses ranges between tens of microns to about several millimeters. These lenses can modulate light coming from VCSELs.
