Silicon Diffractive Optics at THz Frequencies

Abstract

Multilevel silicon diffractive lenses have been fabricated and tested in the frequency range 0.5-2 THz. Efficient focusing occurs at the design frequency of 1 THz with 4-level and 8-level lenses significantly outperforming zone plates and 2-level lenses.
