What Can Digital Processing Do for 3-D Super-Resolution Microscopy?

Abstract

Novel three-dimensional fluorescence microscopy techniques enable diffraction unlimited imaging. Resolution is limited by the photon count and the underlying noise. I discuss the role digital design and post-processing plays in attaining the new fundamental limits.
