Abstract

Volumetric displays with holographic two- and multi-photon excitations using a computer-generated hologram displayed on a liquid crystal spatial light modulator were developed. The holographic technique has advantages of increasing the number of voxels per unit time, increasing the total input energy because the maximum energy incident is limited by the damage threshold of display material, and controlling the size, shape and spatial position of voxels. The volumetric displays using two-photon fluorescence, aerial plasma, and laser-induced bubble are demonstrated in our presentation. In this paper, the topic of the bubble display is focused.
