Detection of hemoglobin variants using surface enhanced Raman scattering

Abstract

Hemoglobin variants are abnormal hemoglobin molecules and some of them elude current methods of detection, making proper diagnosis rather difficult. We investigate SERS as an alternative for hemoglobin variant detection.
