Exploratory study on laser induced hyperthermia effected by local delivery of gold nanoshells in laboratory and animal tissue phantoms

Abstract

We have explored the possibility of using locally delivered gold nanoshells as a means for effecting locally confined thermal ablation treatments. Feasibility of the proposed method has been tested through laboratory and animal tissue phantoms.
