Numerical modeling of light propagation in biological tissue with a turbulent, fractal refractive index model

Abstract

A novel simulation method for light scattering in heterogeneous biological tissue based on the beam propagation method (BPM) in a fractal continuous medium is presented, with implications for a variety of biophotonics applications.
