Characterization of the Response Function for Simulating LiDAR Signal in a Scattering Medium

Abstract

We introduce a novel response function of the rays’ distribution and propose a simplified process to simulate the propagation of LiDAR signals. Based on the proposed method, we analyze the atmospheric propagation of LiDAR signals in various visibility conditions.
