Abstract
Imaging devices with high focal depth, at full pupil aperture, have a large set of applications in microscopy, machine vision and photolithography. In a recent trend of publications several authors have addressed the possibility of extending the depth of field, while preserving the full pupil aperture, by using certain phase-only masks1-5.
