Abstract

We demonstrate an inverse design technique for metasurfaces, based on topology optimization, that can take into account electromagnetic interactions over large surface areas. As an example, we present a multi-layered metalens that can concentrate incident waves at 11 angles to a single focus, optimized over >105 degrees of freedom on a 1200λ surface.
