Performance Evaluation of K-Means Clustering Assisted Common Phase Error Estimation

Abstract

We demonstrate that common phase error can be estimated by k-means clustering with just 4 clusters for different modulation formats. Performance comparison between Viterbi-Viterbi algorithm and k-means clustering is conducted in a Kramers-Kronig detection system.
