Active f-to-2f interferometer for record-low jitter carrier-envelope phase locking

Abstract

Introduction of optical gain into the infrared arm of -to-2f interferometersis demonstrated to improve signal-to-noise ratios by > 20 dB. This opens a perspective for CEP stabilization of unstabilizable lasers.
