An Optofluidic Tweeze-and-Drag Cell Stretcher in a Microfluidic Channel

Abstract

We report an optofluidic tweeze-and-drag cell stretcher in a microfluidic channel. We distinguish healthy and glutaraldehyde-treated rabbit red blood cells based on their different mechanical deformations at a cell-stretching throughput of ~1.2 cells/s.
