Optical spatial differentiator based on subwavelength high-contrast gratings

Abstract

Based on subwavelength high-contrast gratings (HCGs), a transmissive optical spatial differentiator without Fourier lens is proposed experimentally, which achieves edge detections of images and provides applications in optical computing systems and parallel data processing.
