Polarization-Dependent Optical Binding of Plasmonic Nanoparticles

Abstract

Plasmonic metal nanoparticles can self-assemble into anisotropic chains in a linearly polarized optical field and ordered hexagonal arrays in a circularly polarized optical field. Negative optical torque can be observed in the arrays.
