Arrival Time Stabilization of the Photocathode Laser at the European XFEL

Abstract

Arrival time drifts of the European XFEL photocathode laser pulses were identified using balanced optical cross-correlation and compared to the electron bunch arrival time changes. With a feedback loop this timing error could be compensated to 45 fs.
