Abstract

Arbitrary patterns, consisting of sub-wavelength sized nano particles, are developed by laser induced dewetting of ultrathin gold films (e.g., 5, 7.5, and 10 nm). We demonstrate that the light induced local temperature determines the resulting dewetting structures.
