Femtosecond-Laser-Induced Blisters in Polymer Thin Films and Application as Microlenses

Abstract

We present the phenomenology of blister formation by nonlinear absorption of femtosecond pulses in polyimide films, characterized by atomic force microscopy. We demonstrate a novel implementation of blisters as microlenses.
