Counter-propagating Soliton Frequency Microcombs

Abstract

Counter-propagating dissipative Kerr solitons are generated in a single silica microresonator. A relative soliton rate-locking phenomenon is observed and it provides dual-comb pulse streams with different repetition rates and a high-level of mutual coherence.
