Porous Silicon Photonics at Unity Confinement Factors for Biosensing Applications

Abstract

We report a porous silicon photonics platform that addresses the evanescent limitations of guided wave surface adlayer biosensors. Devices are realized through an inverse fabrication process and ultra-high sensitivity to small molecule adlayers is demonstrated.
