Scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscope operating in the terahertz regime

Abstract

We demonstrate a home-built terahertz (THz) scattering-type scanning near-field optical microscope (s-SNOM) system and systematically study the THz response of various common lab materials with ~50 nm spatial resolution. The modeling of the THz near-field response will be discussed.
