Abstract

We proposed a new scheme for on-chip reflectors on the prevalent thin-film-on-insulator platform by using genetic algorithm optimization and experimentally demonstrated devices with footprint of 2.16 μm × 2.16 μm and reflectivity >85% in the wavelength range of 1440–1640 nm.
