Low Quantum Defect Fiber Lasers via Yb-Doped Multicomponent Fluorosilicate Optical Fiber

Abstract

A low quantum defect (QD <1.5%) fiber laser based on an Yb-doped multicomponent fluorosilicate optical fiber is presented. Modeling results indicate that the fiber laser is scalable and that QD values below 1% are feasible.
