Rogue waves in an ultrafast fiber laser under chaotic dissipative soliton buildup regime

Abstract

We report on the observation of optical rogue waves (RWs) in a net-normal dispersion fiber laser during the chaotic dissipative soliton buildup process. These findings indicate a promising approach for optical RW generation.
