Gain-dependent Self-phasing in a Coherently Combined Fiber Laser with Imbalanced Losses

Abstract

The individual beams in a coherently combined two-core fiber laser are influenced by mismatched loss and phase. Interplay between the gain-dependent (Kramers-Kronig) phase and gain saturation determines the complex fields. Experiment and theory are compared.
