Abstract

Shaping photon-phonon coupling in bulk crystalline solids, we demonstrate a new paradigm for coherent optomechanical interaction with access to high frequency (>10 GHz) ultra-high quality factor (40 × 106) phonon modes. Both experiment and theory are presented.
