Modulation Format Independent and Low Complexity CPE Algorithm for Elastic Optical Networks

Abstract

We propose a modulation format independent blind carrier phase estimation (MFI-CPE) algorithm for arbitrary mQAM coherent systems. Comprehensive numerical simulations and experimental results demonstrate its effectiveness and comparable performance to traditional BPS.
