Abstract

The degradation of picosecond contrast in Ti:Sapphire lasers was investigated for different stretcher-compressor combinations. During amplification the coherent ragged post-pedestal, the feature of Ti:Sapphire medium, generates a coherent pre-pedestal limiting the temporal contrast.
