Inverse Design of an Ultra-Compact Mode (De)multiplexer Based on Subwavelength Structure

Abstract

A novel ultra-compact mode (de)multiplexer using inverse design method is proposed and experimentally demonstrated with low crosstalk < 25 dB and a footprint of only 2.4 × 2.4 µm2, fabricated by only one-step etching.
