Gain Asymmetry in Saturated Raman-Assisted Fiber Optical Parametric Amplifiers

Abstract

The spectral asymmetry in saturated Raman-assisted parametric amplification is investigated experimentally and numerically using a five-wave model. We identify that the interplay between dispersive waves and high-order four-wave mixing processes breaks the gain symmetry.
