High-Power 1.65-μm Slab-Coupled Optical Waveguide Amplifiers

Abstract

1.65-μm slab-coupled optical waveguide amplifiers (SCOWAs) that produce >300 mW output power at 20 dB gain are demonstrated. Such high-power devices could enable compact, large-standoff-distance methane sensors.
