Ultra-compact strain- and temperature-insensitive torsion sensor based on a line-by-line inscribed phase-shifted FBG

Abstract

A novel torsion sensor based on a phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating inscribed by the line-by-line technique in a standard single-mode fiber with a femtosecond laser is demonstrated. It is the smallest torsion sensor ever reported.
