56-Gbps OOK Transmission Using Silicon Microring Assisted Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

Abstract

We report a silicon microring assisted Mach-Zehnder interferometer with error free operation up to 38 Gbps. 56 Gbps transmission over 2 km standard single mode fiber at the hard-decision forward-error correction threshold is successfully achieved.
